Liz Cheney to remain GOP conference chair -McCarthy
U.S. Representative Liz Cheney broke with the majority of her fellow Republicans in laying blame squarely on President Donald Trump for the deadly riot that Americans watched unfold in the U.S. Capitol on January 6. And she has no qualms about it.
"I'm not going anywhere," the three-term congresswoman proclaimed to reporters earlier this month, after some back-bench Republicans angrily demanded that she be fired from her position as the No. 3 Republican in the House of Representatives.
She was one of ten Republicans -- and the highest ranking -- to vote to impeach Trump a second time in the chamber that lawmakers fled last week when a mob of Trump supporters angry about his false claims of election fraud ransacked the Capitol.
