Though the election for Cincinnati city council is over, not much is likely to change.

Liz Keating, council's last Republican, was the odd candidate out, coming in tenth in the race for nine seats. That means council, though officially nonpartisan, would be made up of nine Democrats.

Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney was the top vote-getter, and gun control activist Anna Albi the only newcomer.

"I'm excited, thrilled, overwhelmed, and really, really grateful to the citizens of Cincinnati for entrusting me with this enormous responsibility," Albi told The Enquirer.

With 98% of precincts counted, here's how candidates were faring:

  • Kearney: 11.1% of the vote

  • Meeka Owens: 11%

  • Reggie Harris: 10.9%

  • Victoria Parks: 10.3%

  • Scotty Johnson: 10.1%

  • Mark Jeffreys: 10.1%

  • Anna Albi: 9.9%

  • Jeff Cramerding: 9.5%

  • Seth Walsh: 9%

  • Keating: 8.2%
