Liz Phair invites Sarah Silverman to sing with her after bizarre Twitter exchange

Two entertainers with distinct voices who don’t mind a little foul language enjoyed an early morning discussion about vocalizing on Twitter.

Comic Sarah Silverman tweeted “I just figured out singing” early Wednesday morning.

Singer Liz Phair, famous for tunes like “F—k and Run,” explained, “It’s like breathing but you tighten your throat sphincter.”

Silverman, who posted a photo of her rear end on Instagram a few months ago, confessed to Phair that the pair had already sung together, sort of.

“I harmonize with you often,” she tweeted. “You’d hate it. I’m all over ‘Table for One.’”

Phair seemed to appreciate Silverman’s reference to that 2005 song about hitting the bottle.

“If I ever play live again- IF- please jump on stage anytime!” Phair invited. “Appropriate to sing it poorly, given the subject matter, ya?”

Fans on Twitter expressed hope in seeing Phair and Silverman share a stage, though there’s no telling what they’d get.

The lyrics to “Table for One” state “I want to bring down all those people who drank with me. Watching happily, my humiliation.”

Phair was slated to tour with Alanis Morissette and Garbage in support of her new album “Soberish,” but pulled out last month citing “unforeseen circumstances.” She was replaced by Cat Power.
