Lizzo will give her first performance at the MTV Video Music Awards since 2019 during this month’s ceremony at the Prudential Center in Newark, organizers announced Monday.

The fan-favorite pop and hip-hop singer headlines the latest group of performers to be unveiled, with rapper Jack Harlow, Korean-pop supergroup Blackpink, and the Italian rock band Maneskin also announced Monday.

The selection continues a busy summer for the 34-year-old Lizzo, whose hit “About Damn Time” topped the U.S. singles chart. She performed the songs “Good as Hell” and “Truth Hurts” during her debut VMAs performance three years ago.

Harlow also had a chart-topping hit this year with “First Class.” The rapper, 24, performed his previous No. 1 single, “Industry Baby,” at last year’s VMAs, and his seven nominations at this year’s show are tied with Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X for the most of any artist.

Both Lizzo and Harlow are nominated for artist of the year at the 2022 VMAs, while “Industry Baby” is up for video of the year. “About Damn Time” is nominated for song of the year.

The performance by Blackpink will mark the girl group’s U.S. award show debut and first time singing the song “Pink Venom” in the country. Blackpink became the first K-Pop girl group to receive a VMAs trophy, winning song of the summer in 2020 for “How You Like That.”

Maneskin is best known in the U.S. for its rock cover of the Four Seasons’ hit “Beggin’.” The band won best rock honors at last year’s MTV Europe Music Awards.

Previously announced performers include the collaborative Khalid and Marshmello, Latin music stars Anitta and J Balvin, the pop rock group Panic! at the Disco, country artist Kane Brown and Queens-raised rapper Nicki Minaj, who will be honored with the Video Vanguard Award to commemorate her career achievements.

The awards show will air live on Aug. 28 beginning at 8 p.m. ET on MTV and sister networks such as MTV2, VH1, BET and Comedy Central.
