From Lizzo to Shania Twain, these are the Oklahoma concerts to look forward to in 2023

From country and classical to rock and rap, music fans of every variety will find plenty of live shows to their liking across Oklahoma this year.

Just a month into 2023, the Sooner State’s concert calendar is already filling out with an abundance of options.

Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center is building on its record-breaking 2022 concert slate, with Ada native Blake Shelton, Stevie Nicks, Kenny Chesney and more already on the schedule. Tulsa’s BOK Center has dates with icons Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, Shania Twain and Lizzo, who will be making her Oklahoma debut there in May.

But it’s not just the arenas that are busily booking the brightest stars, the most beloved legacy acts and the hottest up-and-comers. The burgeoning lineups at the state’s theaters, ballrooms and casinos shouldn’t be overlooked.

It would be impossible to list them all, but here are some highlights to date of Oklahoma’s 2023 concert slate:

'The Judds: The Final Tour'

Feb. 2, BOK Center, Tulsa 

Country Music Hall of Famer Wynonna Judd is playing 15 added dates on the farewell tour honoring her mother and musical partner Naomi Judd, who died April 30 at age 76. Kelsea Ballerini and Martina McBride will perform with Wynonna in Tulsa.

Feb. 4, Blue Note Lounge 

The local favorites will be accompanied by Acid Queen and Psychotic Reaction at the recently revamped hot spot.

Jason Boland & The Stragglers

Feb. 4, The Auditorium at the Douglass 

The Oklahoma-Texas country band will play a full-band acoustic show on its "Delectric Tour."

The Righteous Brothers

Feb. 4, Sugar Creek Casino, Hinton 

Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bill Medley and his new musical partner, Bucky Heard, sing the legendary duo's hits like “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin'" and "Unchained Melody."

OKC Philharmonic's 'Rite of Spring'

Feb. 4, Civic Center

The orchestra will help guide OKC out of the winter doldrums with a Classics concert featuring Igor Stravinsky's revolutionary 1913 work "Rite of Spring." Cliburn International Piano Competition Medalist Daniel Hsu will be spotlighted in the program, which also will include Pyotr Tchaikovsky's popular "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor, Op. 23" and Jonny Greenwood's acclaimed suite from the 2007 Oscar-winning film “There Will Be Blood."

Kyle Reid album release show

Feb. 4, Blue Door

The Norman-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and engineer is releasing his latest album, "Tin Can Gramophone," on March 3 via Tulsa-based Horton Records.

Feb. 9, Opolis, Norman 

The Oklahoma musician is a self-described "spirited purveyor of early 20th century sounds."

The music icon returns to the BOK Center for the first time since 2009.

OKC Philharmonic with Kelli O'Hara

Feb. 24-25, Civic Center 

The Tony Award winner revisits her home state and reunites with the OKC orchestra for a two-night Pops showcase.

Percussionist Evelyn Glennie will be soloist on a Classics program featuring Toru Takemitsu's "Three Film Scores," Tan Dun's "Paper Concerto for Paper Percussion and Orchestra" and Modest Mussorgsky's "Pictures at an Exhibition," arranged by Maurice Ravel.

For retiring longtime Artistic Director Randi Von Ellefson's final concert at the Civic Center, Canterbury Voices will revisit the late, legendary jazz musician and composer Dave Brubeck's celebratory mass, which the OKC chorus previously presented in 2007.

After rocking their first headlining arena show in their home state last fall at OKC's Paycom Center, the popular Oklahoma Red Dirt band is playing a two-night stint at Tulsa's downtown arena. Special guests Old Crow Medicine Show and Muscadine Bloodline will open.

The rising Grammy-nominated country star, who hails from Oologah, is returning to Oklahoma with his newly announced "Burn Burn Burn North American Tour."

The country superstar's "Home Team Tour" will feature Cole Swindell and Nate Smith.

Rocklahoma featuring Pantera

Sept. 1-3, Pryor Creek Music Festival Grounds, near Pryor 

The full lineup has yet to be announced, but the three-day music and camping festival billed as "America's Biggest Labor Day Weekend Party" will count Pantera among its 2023 headliners. The heavy metal icons are touring this year with a lineup including original members Philip Anselmo and Rex Brown joined by Zakk Wylde on guitar and Charlie Benante on drums.
