Lobbying World: PhRMA taps new top lobbyist
Steve Tilton will return to the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) as senior vice president of federal advocacy. He succeeds Anne Esposito, who stepped down this summer after 3 1/2 years in the role. The influential industry group is regrouping after the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, which included provisions to slash prescription drug prices. Tilton served as a PhRMA vice president from 2004 to 2010 and again from 2016 to 2019, and he has been the top lobbyist for one of its members, Takeda.
Prism Group added Alex Ford as vice president. Ford will focus on tax and capital formation policy issues, as well as Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provisions that are set to expire in 2025. Before joining Prism, Ford founded and led Halcyon Strategy, representing trade associations on a range of tax issues.
The News/Media Alliance has hired Neil Quinter as senior vice president of global government affairs. He was chief counsel to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and is a former member of the Maryland House of Delegates.
Holly Radel is now executive vice president of public affairs and communications at Tiger Hill Partners. Radel most recently spearheaded the Global Private Capital Association’s communications and advocacy work as the chief operating officer and managing director of institutional relations.
Alex MacDonald has rejoined the employment and labor law giant Littler as a shareholder. A former Littler attorney, MacDonald is now a member of the firm’s Labor Management Relations practice group and its government relations and public policy arm, the Workplace Policy Institute. He was the director of the future of work and labor law at Instacart and a labor and employment attorney in the Office of the General Counsel for the U.S. Postal Service.
