Local brewery teams up with Patagonia, new restaurant opens, and Bellingham events

Here’s a roundup of the latest retail, business and restaurant activity in and around Whatcom County:

Local brewery teams up with Patagonia

Aslan Brewing Company has teamed up with Patagonia Provisions, the outdoor clothing company’s food division to make a new beer.

The Kernza Lager will be released June 27, and have a have a launch party on July 1 that includes a walk through Whatcom Falls and live music, BBQ and beer at the Depot.

The Aslan Depot is open from 3-11 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and is at 1322 N. State St. in Bellingham.

MOD Pizza adding second Bellingham location

MOD Pizza is bringing another pizza restaurant location to Bellingham in Sehome Village, according to the company’s website. The new restaurant does not have an opening date, but will be at 330 36th St. near REI and Dollar Tree.

Juneteenth holiday on Monday, June 19

As Juneteenth, a holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States is this Monday, there are a few local events in Bellingham celebrating the holiday.

New restaurant comes to Bellis Fair mall

Natalino’s Pizza, a pizza restaurant based in British Columbia opened a second location in the Bellis Fair mall food court on Friday, June 17.

The restaurant specializes in Roman-style pizza and pizza crust that is easy to digest and low in fat.

The restaurant and Bellis Fair mall is at 1 Bellis Fair Parkway in Bellingham and is open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Dirty Dan for sale, new restaurant opens

The Dirty Dan Harris steakhouse in Bellingham has been listed for sale by its owner, as the owner has recently opened a new ramen restaurant in the area.

The new restaurant, Ramen and Bowl, serves dishes such as miso ramen, chicken teriyaki, short ribs, edamame, gyoza and shrimp tempura.

It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 5-8:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday through Saturday, and from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday. The restaurant is at 105 E Chestnut St. in Bellingham.
