Big Diamond event postponed to today

FORESTVILLE — After an afternoon thunderstorm and with more severe weather forecasted tonight, and the safety of drivers and fans in mind, Super DIRTcar Series and Big Diamond Speedway officials have postponed Tuesday's event at the track until today.

All times will remain the same, with the grandstands and pit gate opening at 4 p.m. Hot laps will take place at 6:30 p.m., and racing will start at 7:30 p.m.

This will be the first time since 2009 that the Super DIRTcar Series has returned to Big Diamond Speedway. The big block modifieds will take to the track in a 75-lap Anthracite Assault feature that pays $7,500 to the winner.

The 602 crate sportsman and the roadrunners are also scheduled to be on tonight's card.
