Sharon Avenue closing for work

ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville has announced that Sharon Avenue will be closed from 10 a.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday from Hughes Street to Fishers Lane by American Electric Power for improvements to its facilities. Motorists are encouraged to find alternate routes.

Locals graduate KSU

KENT − Several local students graduated Kent State University during spring commencement.

Graduates included Justin Allen, Lynnea Crock and Dominic Moore of Zanesville; Hayley Malenda of Chandlersville; Breanna Darden of Frazeysburg; Katelyn Croston of Nahsport; Jordan Hunt of New Concord; TyAnna Fisher and Brooke Guisinger of New Lexington; Lillian Keister and Brittney Weaver-Spires of Junction City; Casey Slive of New Straitsville; Lucas Clark of Somerset; Levi Sweazy of Thornville; Wyatt Nicewanger of Malta; and Tessa Carnahan of McConnelsville.

Graduating magna cum laude were Mikayla BarBour and Sydney Carson of Zanesville.

Graduating summa cum laude were Lauren Wyatt of Zanesville, Austin Redman of Frazeysburg and Andrew Newsome of New Concord.

Graduating cum laude were Shelby Brown of Zanesville and Breanna Brownfield of Thornville.

Graduating with distinction were Morgan Jinkens, Grace Johnson and Mykensie White of Zanesville; Kendall Lent of Chandlersville; Chloe Eicher of Nashport; and Dakota Fisher of Roseville.
