To celebrate its inaugural year for the Youth ArtScape Banner program, the Art League of Henderson County hosted a reveal event last week at Jackson Park.

Twenty-one artists were selected, and their artwork will be displayed on professionally-designed and printed banners throughout the park. According to a news release, youth from Henderson County were invited to submit their artwork for the new program, which is designed to highlight the creativity and artistic skills of Henderson County's younger residents.

Just like the original ArtScape artists, whose banners are displayed on Main Street in downtown Hendersonville, the youths' artwork, name, and grade will appear on a durable-vinyl banner.

“I can’t wait to see the faces of the junior artists when they see their banners for the first time flying high in Jackson Park,” said Junior Youth Banner Chair Michele Sparks in the news release.

Sparks has been working closely with Henderson County Parks and Recreation to bring this program to the park for a few years.

This program was made possible by a grant from The Community Foundation of Henderson County. ArtScape, a program of the Art League of Henderson County, was founded in 2017. The program is supported, in part, by the Tourism Development Authority of Henderson County, the City of Hendersonville and corporate and private sponsors, the release said.
