Christmas celebration in Marshfield

MARSHFIELD – The Community League of Marshfield will put on its annual Christmas Celebration with the Marshfield High School Chamber Orchestra and choral group at noon Wednesday, Dec. 8, at the North Community Church, 72 Old Main St. Guests may begin seating at 11:45 a.m. For more information, email bev104@verizon.net.

Rally for Randolph football champs Saturday

RANDOLPH – A Blue Devils championship rally for the Randolph High School state champion football team will start at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. The high school football team, marching band and cheerleaders will make their way from America's Food Basket Plaza up North Main Street to town hall for a victory celebration. The football team will help light the town Christmas tree at 4:30 p.m.

Live Nativity at Hingham church

HINGHAM – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hingham will host a live Nativity from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11. The outside of the church at 379 Gardner St. will be transformed into various stages for live actors and animals to present the story of the Nativity. Free. Arboretum to open for holiday strolls

MILTON – The Wakefield Arboretum will open for garden strolls during holiday open houses from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 10, and Sunday, Dec. 12, at the arboretum, 1465 Brush Hill Road. The suggested donation for admission is $5. For more information, call 617-333-0924 ext. 22.

Christmas songs this weekend

HINGHAM, COHASSET – The Unicorn Singers and Broad Cove Chorale will perform Christmas concerts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 916 Main St., Hingham, and at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the First Parish Unitarian Church, 23 N Main St., Cohasset. Tickets are $30 for adults, $20 for children 12 and unde. Masks and either proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test are required. For more information, call 781-749-0162.

Quincy accepting letters to Santa Claus

QUINCY – A mailbox to send letters directly to Santa Claus has been placed on the Hancock-Adams Common outside Quincy City Hall. The mailbox will be in place until noon Thursday, Dec. 23. No postage is required. For more information, email mhanly@quincyma.gov.

Holiday sale at Quincy art gallery

QUINCY – The recently opened QArts Gallery in Quincy Center will host a Small Works Holiday Sale through 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 24. For sale will be locally made paintings, photography and fine art.
