LOCAL CONNECTIONS: Bucknell's Bellucci earns second-team All-Patriot League

Nov. 1—Bucknell University senior Mia Bellucci (Scranton Prep) placed 13th out of 104 runners to earn second-team all-league honors at the Patriot League Cross Country Championships.

Bellucci covered the 6K course at Bucknell West Fields in Lewisburg in 21 minutes, 34.2 seconds, helping the Bison finish fifth in the 10-team standings with 110 points. Navy won with 38 points.

It is the first All-Patriot League honor for Bellucci.

—University of Cincinnati senior Tyler Wirth (Wallenpaupack) finished seventh out of 76 runners at the American Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Wirth ran the 8K course in 24:11.8 to earn all-conference honors again. He finished eighth last year.

—Saint Joseph's University sophomore Kevin Jumper (Holy Cross) was 55th out of 137 runners at the Atlantic 10 Conference Cross Country Championships at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

Jumper's time on the 8K course was 25:33.8.

—Boston College junior Andrew Healey (Holy Cross) was the Eagles' second runner across the finish line and 105th overall at the Atlantic Coast Conference Cross Country Championships at Pandora Farms in Earlysville, Virginia, in 25:13.8.

—At the Middle Atlantic Conference Cross Country Championships at Union Canal Tunnel Park in Lebanon, DeSales University sophomore Haley Estus (Western Wayne) finished 15th out of 135 runners in the women's 6K race in 23:39.3. That earned her second-team all-MAC honors.

Also, Misericordia University freshman Madison Kammer (Western Wayne) was 41st in 24:51.9. Messiah College senior Sarah Bath (Abington Heights) was 67th in 25:53.0. DeSales sophomore Elizabeth Chidester (Montrose) was 75th in 26:23.7 and King's College freshman Samantha Adams (Valley View) was 80th in 26:42.8.

In the men's 8K race, Misericordia graduate student Stephen Kober (Wallenpaupack) earned second-team all-MAC by finishing 11th out of 149 runners in 25:52.4.

King's sophomore teammates Owen Foytack (North Pocono) and Tyler Petty (Abington Heights), finished 46th and 47th, respectively. Foytack's time was 27:30.6 and Petty's time was 27:32.4. Monarchs sophomore Travis Lane (North Pocono) was 115th in 30:20.4.

Wilkes University sophomore Dustin Edsall (Honesdale) was 120th in 30:52.3.

Kutztown University redshirt junior quarterback Donny Blaine (North Pocono) completed 13 of 29 passes for 258 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions in a 20-13 win over Millersville University.

For the season, Blaine is 110 for 189 for 1,557 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. He has not thrown an interception in his last 134 attempts spanning five-plus games and 23 quarters. The last time he was picked off was late in the first quarter against Shepherd University on Sept. 24 and it was returned for a touchdown.

On Saturday, Kutztown (7-2 overall, 5-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division) hosts West Chester University.

Chalk up another double-digit tackle game for Old Dominion University sophomore linebacker Jason Henderson (Delaware Valley). He had 17 (11 solo, 6 assists) in a 31-17 loss to Georgia State, giving him a Football Bowl Subdivision-leading 129 (41, 88) through eight games. That breaks the school record for tackles in a season. The previous mark was 123 set in 2015 by T.J. Ricks. ... Colgate University senior linebacker J.C. Gaughan (North Pocono) had four solo tackles in a 13-7 win over Bucknell. Gaughan ranks fourth on the Raiders with 32 tackles (21,11). ... Hartwick College senior tight end Justin LoBasso (Honesdale) had two catches for 12 yards, including a 6-yard touchdown, in a 44-26 loss to St. John Fisher College. LoBasso has 28 catches for 235 yards and three TDs this season. Also for the Hawks, senior defensive lineman Ryan Carmody (Susquehanna) had two tackles (0,2) against St. John Fisher, giving him 13 for the season (6,7). ... Moravian University junior defensive back Zach Scillia (Delaware Valley) had five tackles (4,1) and his team-leading third interception in a 14-3 win over McDaniel College. Scillia's three picks also are tied for third in the Centennial Conference. ... Hamilton College senior James Lewis (Lakeland) had a tackle on a kickoff in the fourth quarter of the Continentals' 49-13 loss to Tufts University.

Clarks Summit University swept the Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer weekly awards for the period ending Sunday.

Kingsley Okoi was named Offensive Player of the Week after scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over the University of Valley Forge to clinch the Defenders' first playoff berth since 2013.

Goalkeeper Liam Hungate was chosen Defensive Player of the Week for totaling 12 saves in two games.

Keystone College's Alex Gonzalez was named to the men's soccer honor roll.

Five other Keystone athletes were also selected to the honor roll in their respective sports: Maria Tomada (field hockey); Megan Weber and Annie Metzger (women's soccer); and Adrianna Derrick and Hailey Herneisey (women's volleyball).

Landmark Conference

Katie Redding of the University of Scranton was chosen field hockey Offensive Athlete of the Week. Redding had four goals and one assist in two games, including a hat trick in a win over Juniata College.

Claire Sites of Scranton was named women's soccer Defensive Athlete of the Week. Sites helped anchor a defense that held the opposition to just two shots in two victories. She also scored a goal against Juniata.

Atlantic East

Marywood University's Shannon Corr was chosen women's volleyball Player of the Week. During a 2-1 week by the Pacers, Corr totaled 29 kills, 36 digs, 8 blocks and 6 aces.
