Finding a Mother's Day gift could be easier this year with a new, upcoming craft show this weekend.

Caring Crafters of St. Clair County, Michigan LLP will be hosting its first Mother's Day craft show this Saturday. Co-owners Carol Bogan and Ronda Parker started the group because as crafters themselves, they know how exhibitors should be treated and want to go the extra mile. The Celebration of Mother's Day Craft Show is the group's first show of the year.

"I feel ecstatic about it," Parker said. "I get the goosebumps when I know I'm on the right track about something."

The Celebration of Mother's Day Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday at the Knight Club, located at 1195 Gratiot Blvd. in Marysville. Admission is $1 and children 10 and under get in free.

The show will feature 45 local vendors displaying things such as clothing, jewelry and other handmade products. Additionally, Wendy Greer, the owner of Wendy's St. Clair Greenhouse and Florist will be giving two demonstrations on floral design and gardening tips.

The craft show will also have a special event for children. Mother Goose, portrayed by Port Huron resident Karen Harmon, will be at the event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. telling stories and doing crafts with her companion Marigold the Goose.

Additionally, kids can enter their names in a raffle to win one of two goose stuffed animals.

"This would kind of be a built-in babysitter so that mom and dad go shop around the show," Bogan said.

Bogan said she's never seen another Mother's Day event have Mother Goose as a featured guest, so she thought this would be a unique opportunity to showcase. Bogan said she and Parker wanted to make sure there was something for everyone to enjoy at the craft show.

"We look for quality and uniqueness in people," Bogan said. "Our exhibitors will always have a home with us."

The craft show will also have a directory available for help attendees find the vendors.
