Jun. 10—NORWALK — The Norwalk Elks Lodge No. 730 made a number of grant contributions to area institutions recently. Grants were both applied for and received from both the Ohio Elks Association as well as the Elks National Foundation (ENF).

The Norwalk Area Food Bank (NAFB) was presented with $2,000 for restocking their food pantry for community distribution. These monies were received from the 2022 Gratitude Grant through the ENF.

The Ohio Elks Association awarded a Community Service Grant in the amount of $750 which was presented to the Norwalk Fire Department. This money was used for the purchase of Fire Ninja Ultrabright Safety Vests. These vests provide high visibility for firefighters when they are working in close proximity to streets and roadways, thereby alerting motorists to their presence and potentially avoiding accidents or injuries.

Finally, the Ohio Elks Association awarded a Cerebral Palsy Grant of $10,000 to Norwalk Elks Lodge No. 730, which was presented to Artists Open Studio in Norwalk. This money will be used for supplies and new equipment that will make the studio even more accessible for local Cerebral Palsy and special-needs community members.
