Local girls soccer teams hope to carve out solid seasons

Sep. 13—WINDHAM HIGH

Coach: Stephen Smith ( Second season). 2021 record: (12-6).

Key returnees: Jr. M Kyleigh Miller, Jr. D Alyssa Lebiszczak, Jr. F Alanna Robins, Jr. F Katherine Gutierrez, Sr. M Asia Jones, Soph. GK, Jr. D Sandi Gonzalez.

Newcomers: Sr. M Guadalupe Murillo, Soph. M Kami Delgado Gomez, Soph. M Wendy Chingo, Fr. M Aislyd Alaniz.

Outlook: The Whips graduated five starters, including striker and leading scorer, Class M All-State pick Sienna Ortiz ( 24 goals). Windham will need to work hard on the offensive side of things to return back to the post-season tournaments.

LYMAN MEMORIAL

Coach: Mark Morello ( 34th season). 2021 record: 11- 8- 1 ( ECC Division IV champions, ECC DII tournament runner-up, Class S quarterfinalist).

Outlook: Staying healthy and developing depth at the varsity level have been goals for several seasons under Morello, the area's longest tenured head coach, and this Fall is no different.

Carpenter was a Class S All-State pick. The Bulldogs graduated five multi-year starters including all- conference picks Morgan Tartaglia (GK) and Kasey Cook (F).

WINDHAM TECH

Coach: Brandon Strout ( Eighth season). 2021 record: (15-4, CTC tournament champions).
