The 144-page book includes photos, historic news and front pages from the Press Journal archives, which date back to when Vero Beach was founded in 1919.

The first edition of the Vero Press was published Sept. 13, 1919, before the city of Vero changed its official name to Vero Beach and before Indian River County was created. The Vero Journal was founded Feb. 21, 1926, and the two papers merged May 6, 1927.
