Local Irish-inspired specials for St. Patrick’s Day & where to celebrate in Macon this weekend

You’re in luck, Macon.
While you might not find a pot of gold this St. Patrick’s Day, you will find some delicious treats and deals at local restaurants and bars.
From green cocktails to Irish coffees and shepherd’s pie, it’s time to eat, drink and be Irish.
Pearl Passionate Cuisine & Cocktails
Where: 470 1st St, Macon, GA 31201
When: Friday and Saturday 5-10 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. — 3 p.m.
This weekend, Pearl will be serving a few Irish-inspired dishes:
Guinness Beef Stew: beef, parsnips, carrots and peas in a rich Guinness gravy served over a traditional Irish Colcannon (creamy red-skinned mashed potatoes with sautéed cabbage, crumbled bacon and green onion)
Guinness chocolate cheesecake with a Five Farms Irish Cream ganache
Special cocktails will also be on the menu for the weekend:
A traditional Irish coffee made with signature ZBeans blend for Pearl, rich Demerara syrup and Bushmills Irish whiskey
“Kiss My Irish Lass” featuring Bushmills Irish whiskey, Vermouth Bianco, Cynar, Falernum, Vetiver and Peychaud’s Bitters
Hotel Forty Five: Loom & Hightales Rooftop Bar
Where: 401 Cotton Ave, Macon, GA 31201
When: The specials at Loom will be served on Friday, March 17 from 5 — 9 p.m. and the cocktails at Hightales will be offered 4-11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 4-10 p.m. on Sunday.
Irish Pub Salad: mixed greens, hard boiled egg, beets, grape tomatoes, cucumbers and shaved red onions in a tarragon vinaigrette
Corned Beef & Cabbage: garlic and herb roasted potatoes with baby rainbow carrots
Shepherd’s Pie: red wine-braised shredded beef short ribs, carrots, onions, celery and peas topped with garlic-roasted mashed potatoes and Guinness gravy
Irish Car Bomb Cheesecake: chocolate and Guinness-infused, topped with Jameson Irish whiskey chocolate ganache and Baileys Irish whipped cream
Here are the St. Patrick’s Day cocktails that will be offered at Hightales:
Lucky Charm Martini: Made with Proper Twelve Apple Whiskey, Sour Apple Pucker, Cointreau, orange juice and a rainbow sprinkle rim
Irish Mule: Proper Twelve Apple Whiskey, Ginger beer and a lime wedge
Here are some other places to celebrate the greenest weekend of the year:
Society Garden
Where: 2389 Ingleside Ave, Macon, GA 31204
When: Saturday, March 18, starting at 1 p.m.
What: Society Garden’s St. Patrick’s Day bash begins with Live Irish music at 1 p.m. and continues throughout the day with drink specials and you guessed it, green beer. There will also be the annual “The Great Macon Ginger Parade” at 5:30 p.m. (parade lineup will be at Karsten & Denson parking lot around 5:15). The Shade Trees will play live later in the night, at 8:30 p.m.
The Brick
Where: 1305 Hardeman Ave #100, Macon, GA 31201
When: All day Friday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.
What: It’s a huge St. Patrick’s Day celebration at The Brick, where there will be great drink specials, beer pong and other games, and all things green of course. There will also be a $50 gift card prize for the best dressed and other prizes throughout the day. Drink specials include:
