Local music education program for kids goes online

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — After a decade of offering music education classes around the DMV Hope Greenleaf is bringing the classes to YouTube.

Greenleaf is the founder of Tunes 4 Tots. The music education program has been enriching the lives of children since 2014. Realizing not everyone could make it to one of her classes, Greenleaf decided to put them on YouTube.

“I wanted to get this in front of as many children as possible and I just truly believe in the benefit, so I am so excited for more children to experience Tunes 4 Tots,” said Greenleaf.

Greenleaf says her classes are geared for children 0-4 years old which is an important age because early childhood is a time when the brain is growing and developing.

“This is such a fulfillment for me because as a child I didn’t really watch cartoons, I would watch PBS, Sesame Street, and Mr. Rogers,” said Greenleaf. “I truly believe a real live teacher is way more beneficial than cartoons.”
