Local and national retail and restaurant businesses are joining together to do their due diligence for this year’s Veterans Day.

Falling on a Friday, the holiday which recognizes those who serve or have served in the armed forces, will be recognized. Most of the deals require proof of service and sometimes deals extend to spouses and other family members.

The Tribune is republishing the list of locations offering discounts and deals for veterans that published in 2021. Because it has not been updated, The Tribune recommends calling ahead or checking a business' website to confirm participation and that the business is still open. This is by no means an exhaustive list and it is not meant to be. You can also keep tabs on lists of free offers online. One of the best websites with updates is themilitarywallet.com.

Amtrak — Veterans and active military members get a 10% discount year-round. The company may be offering additional discounts for Veterans Day, as they have in the past.

Applebee’s (multiple locations) — Free meal from special menu. Beverage is not included.

Bar Louie (6501 Grape Road, Mishawaka) — Free flatbread or burger up to $15 value.

Ben’s Soft Pretzels (multiple locations) — Free pretzel, dip and drink at Concord Mall and University Park Mall locations.

Bonefish Grill (620 W. Edison Road, Mishawaka) — Free Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer.

Buffalo Wild Wings (multiple locations) — Free order of traditional or boneless wings with a side of fries for dine-in customers only.

Coach’s Sports Bar & Grill (2046 South Bend Ave., South Bend) — $10 off meals.

Cracker Barrel (110 Northpointe Blvd., Elkhart) — Free slice of chocolate cake or coffee.

Drive and Shine (multiple locations) — Free diamond car wash at South Bend, Mishawaka, Elkhart and Schererville, Ind., locations.

Dunkin’ Donuts (multiple locations) — Free classic doughnut.

Edible Arrangements (multiple locations) — A free smoothie or fruit salad, call ahead to verify times.

Fiddler’s Hearth (127 N Main St., South Bend) — 10% off food and soft drink menu items.

Great Clips (multiple locations) — Free haircut.

Greta's Bridal and Formalwear Shoppe (1130 Lincoln Way E., South Bend) — Discounts for all veterans and first responders, which will vary depending on the item, starting at 10%.

Hacienda Mexican Restaurants (multiple locations) — Free large wet burrito for dine-in customers only.

Home Depot (317 Indian Ridge Blvd., Mishawaka) — 10% off purchase for veterans year-round.

Hooters (205 W. Day Road, Mishawaka) — Free meal from select menu with any drink purchase.

Hyatt Hotels (multiple locations) — Veterans and immediate family can get between 10% to 15% off their stay at any participating Hyatt-branded hotel in the United States with offer code MILVET. The offer will be in effect indefinitely.

LongHorn Steakhouse (6402 Grape Road, Mishawaka) — Free appetizer or dessert, no purchase necessary. Entire table gets 10% off their meal.

Lowe’s (multiple locations) — 10% off purchase year-round. May have to register for MyLowe’s account.

Martin’s Super Markets (multiple locations) —Veterans can receive a free meal. Call to verify.
