Cambridge Band to perform free concert

The Cambridge Band will offer a free concert at 7:30 p.m. July 4 in the large pavilion of the Cambridge City Park. The band will present musical selections which will pay honor and respect to America and the men and women who have served or are serving our country.

Concessions will be served by Chordial Chorus starting at 6 p.m. including hot dogs, sloppy joes, cold drinks and homemade pie. For information call Berk Jones at 740-439-5551.

Meeting dates changed for trustees

The Westland Township will not meet on July 3 or July 17 but will meet at 7 p.m. on July 10 and July 24, at the Claysville Township building. The normal meeting schedule of the first and third Mondays of the month will resume in August.

Caldwell Independence Day activities

Caldwell will celebrate Independence Day at the Noble County fairgrounds and will include a traditional chicken barbecue, car show and fireworks. The dinner will be served at 11 a.m. until sold out and costs $12. Whole chickens may be purchased for $12 as well.

A cruise-in car, truck, bike and tractor show will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with registration at 9 a.m. There will be concession stands on the grounds throughout the day. A fireworks display will be set off at 10 p.m. All proceeds will benefit the Noble County 4-H Youth Development program.

East Guernsey BOE meeting scheduled

The July regular board meeting for the East Guernsey Local School District Board of Education has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday in the CCP Lab at Buckeye Trail High School, 65555 Wintergreen Road, Lore City.

Electric Duo coming to New Concord

NEW CONCORD, OHIO — Celebrate New Concord announces that the next performer for the summer concert series will be the 732 The Electric Duo.

Mary Spayd and Glenn Armstrong will be taking the stage at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 11 at Village Park, 2 W. Main St. They will perform some 1970s to 1990s-era rock alongside soul and blues music. Admission is free. Refreshments will be for sale by the National Trail Ruritan Club. For those who cannot make it to the event, the performance will air the following Friday through Sunday at 2 p.m. on WMCO 90.7, the WMCO app, and OrbitMediaOnline.com.

DiMarco earns Skill Point Certificate

Avari DiMarco of Cambridge and a student at Mid-East Career and Technology Centers Buffalo campus was recently awarded a Skill Point Certificate in nurse assisting. The SkillsUSA Championships event is held annually for students in middle school, high school or college/postsecondary programs as part of the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference.

The Skill Point Certificate represents workplace readiness in the occupational specialty.
