Simple Signs changes hands

COSHOCTON − Simple Signs owned by Mike Gross has been sold and will now be known as Simple Signs & Print. Briar Swigert will serve as general manager and operations will be housed at 432 Main St., next to Hasseman Marketing.

The company will focus on printing and signs for small to medium-sized businesses, and work for individuals. This might include business cards, rack cards, invitations, posters, yard signs and more. For more information, call 740-674-6160 or go to SimpleSignsandPrint.com.

No injuries in C.R. 410 crash

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a single-vehicle traffic crash at 5:51 p.m. Thursday on County Road 410, near Oxford Township Road 256.

Authorities said Kaleb Brock, 20, of Coshocton was traveling south when he lost control, went off the right side of the roadway, struck a guardrail and overturned his vehicle. Passengers in the vehicle were Colton Hough, 21, and Anthony McKee, 18, both of Coshocton, and a female juvenile. Everyone was treated and released on scene.

Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Management Services, West Lafayette Fire Department and Prince's Wrecker Service.

Locals achieve at COTC

NEWARK − Several local students were named to honor lists for the summer semester at Central Ohio Technical College.

Named to the president's list was James Wright of Coshocton, Named to the dean's list were Tyler Boone, Joshua Buxton, Deborah Gale, Dawn Ireland, Kelsey Kent, Jennifer Lawrence, Danielle May and Tanya Stubbs of Coshocton and Madison Mehok, Clara Stoll and Christian Williams of Warsaw.

Special programs upcoming at library

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Public Library System will be holding special programs in September at the main library.

Blood, Brains and Lobotomies is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 14 featuring Mindy McGinnis of the Ohio Humanities Speakers Bureau relating history and stories of the Athens Lunatic Asylum.

The Things We Keep, a four-part series looking at special objects that hold a deep meaning for individuals, is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Sept. 22. The topic will be family heirlooms.

Painter's Place is a free watercolor art class with retired art teacher Myrtle Beall from 10 a.m. to noon Sept. 26 on the east lawn with all materials and seating provided.

Dining with Diabetes classes planned

COSHOCTON − Take Charge of Your Diabetes During the Holiday class by Ohio State University Extension of Coshocton County will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3 at the Frontier Power Community Meeting Room, 770 S. Second St.

Those with diabetes or pre-diabetes and their family members or caretakers can learn tips for managing diabetes around the tough time of the holidays. Learn to prepare favorite holidays foods that are nutritious and delicious with cooking demonstrations and samples.
