Riggle joins sales team at Gibson-Turner

Riggle is a lifelong resident of Southeastern Ohio and currently resides between Cambridge and New Concord with her husband Brad and their daughter, Ava. Barnesville students awarded scholarships

Peyton Steed of Barnesville was awarded a scholarship Oct. 5 by the Vitalant Foundation at the NextUp Awards in recognition of his volunteer efforts in his community. A committee reviewed blinded submissions of the finalists and judged their philanthropic or charitable programs based on their direct impact on the community, the long-term outcomes, and whether the project can serve as a prototype for other communities.

Steed won in the ages 13 to 15 category for his work with KindnessU. He is a main leader and key to the club’s future success for continually proposing new fundraising ideas and playing a crucial role in increasing membership. The 100-member organization has raised almost $50,000 over the past four years.

Other finalists included Kennedy Little and Ryland Wehr, both of Barnesville, in the ages 13 to 15 category, and Landyn Wehr of Barnesville in the ages 12 and under category.

CARA receives award

The Cambridge Amateur Radio Association will receive an award from the ARRL for achieving 75 years of affiliation with its National Organization at 9 a.m. on Oct. 29 at the Guernsey County Administration Building. The ARRL Great Lakes Division Director Dale Williams, WA8EFK, from Dundee, Michigan, will be present to make this presentation, along with ARRL Great Lakes Division Vice Director Scott Yonally, N8SY, from Lexington, Ohio, and ARRL Ohio Section Manager Tom Sly, WB8LCD, from Kent, Ohio, will be there as well.

The Cambridge Amateur Radio Association, established on December 4, 1913, is one of the oldest clubs in the United States; a year older than the ARRL, the National Organization for Amateur Radio.

Wills trustees to meet Monday

The Wills Township trustees will meet in regular session at 7 p.m. on Monday at the township garage, 17629 Easton Road, Salesville. The public is welcome to attend. Call 740-584-5713 to be added to the agenda.

Library board meeting Tuesday

The Board of Trustees of the Guernsey County District Public Library will meet in regular session at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at the Crossroads Branch Library.

East M board to consider public employee

The East Muskingum Local School Board of Education will meet in special session at 7:30 a.m. on Monday at the John Glenn High School Library, 13115 John Glenn School Road, New Concord, to consider the employment of a public employee or official.
