Auditions held for 'Hallelujah Girls'

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Footlight Players are holding auditions for "Hallelujah Girls" at 4 p.m. Oct. 2 and 6 p.m. Oct. 3 at the Triple Locks Theater, 685 N. Whitewoman St.

Performance dates are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and 26 and Dec. 2, 3, 9 and 10 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4. Director is Nathan Mayse. There are parts for six women and two men of various ages.

After the sudden death of a dear friend, a feisty group of women from the town of Eden Falls, Georgia, decide that life is indeed short and vow to change their lives and achieve their dreams. This includes Sugar Lee Thompkins turning an abandoned church into a day spa.

Scarecrow Town registration open

COSHOCTON − Registration is open for the annual Coshocton Scarecrow Town event by Clary Gardens. It's open to any resident, business or organization in the county to create a scarecrow or scarecrow scene. Scarecrows can be placed on one's own property or at Clary Gardens.

Scarecrows can be entered in the three categories of pop culture, creepy and traditional with there also being a people's choice category.

Registration coast prior to Oct. 1 is $20 for businesses, $10 for non-profit organizations and $5 for residents. Cost is an extra $5 after Oct. 1. Register at scarecrowtown.com or call Clary Gardens at 740-622-6524 for more information.

Online voting will be Oct. 1 to 28 with winners announced at the fall festival Oct. 29 at Clary Gardens. A map of entries will be on the website.

Conesville celebrates anniversary

CONESVILLE − A celebration of the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Village of Conesville will be 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at Conesville Park.

There will be food and family activities such as bounce houses, touch a truck and face painting. The event is free. Parking is available at Conesville Elementary School and the lower ball field.

Kids Stuff Sale upcoming

WEST LAFAYETTE − The Coshocton County Kids Stuff Sale will be from noon to 8 p.m. Oct. 7, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 8 and 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 9 at the EPICenter, 100 E. Main St., West Lafayette. That Sunday is half price day.

Available will be gently used children's items such as clothing, shoes, accessories and toys. Maternity and junior items are also included.
