Monster Mash to take place in Byesville

The Monster Mash returns, with 15 businesses registered to participate where guests can trick or treat. The event is scheduled to run from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 29. Food trucks will be on-site selling concessions and mini golf will also be available.

Church open house in Quaker City

Saint John's Church will host an open house from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 30 at the church, 57310 Saint John's Road, Quaker City.

Pennyroyal to host Larry Stephenson Band

The Pennyroyal Opera House will host a bluegrass show at 7 p.m. Friday featuring the Larry Stephenson Band. Stephenson has been headlining festivals and concerts for 30 years. The opening band is Just Plain Grass. The kitchen and doors open at 5 p.m. and the show is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15.

The Pennyroyal Opera House is located in Fairview Ohio just off Interstate 70 at exit 198. For more information check the website www.pennyroyalbluegrass.com or their Facebook page.

  • October 29: Byesville Fire Department Costume Party and Terror Room - 6 to 9 p.m.; Claysville - 5:30 to 7 p.m.; Pike Elementary - Spooktacular Boo Fest - 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Salt Fork Lodge and Conference Center - Boo-Ganza - all day

Grant program to accept applications in November

The Appalachian Community Grant Program will soon be accepting applications. The grant, a $500 million program, will provide funding for sustainable, transformative projects in the 32-county region of Ohio, including Muskingum and Guernsey counties. The program is broken into two categories, the Appalachian Planning Grant and the Appalachian Development Grant, to help assist in the funding of all phases of the accepted projects.

Planning grants will be available to assist developers with research, planning and project proposal costs. The development grants will be available to support the implementation of projects. Enrollment for the community grant programs will open in November and close in December and will be awarded in early 2023.

Law Library Resources Board to meet today

The Guernsey County Law Library Resources Board will be meeting at noon today at the Guernsey County Law Library, third floor of the Guernsey County Courthouse.

Record Commission meeting scheduled

The Cambridge Township Trustees will hold a record commission meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Township Garage.

Port Authority to hold special meeting

There will be a special meeting of the Guernsey County Port Authority at 9 a.m. on Wednesday in the CIC conference room located at 9900 Brick Church Road, Suite 2, Cambridge.
