Jingle Mingle 5K planned

NEW CONCORD − The John Glenn Cross Country and Track and Field Boosters are having the third annual Jingle Mingle 5K run and walk at 10 a.m. Dec. 17 at John Glenn High School, 13115 John Glenn School Road, New Concord. Check-in starts at 9 a.m.

JavaMomo Breakfast Cakery will be selling muffins and cookies. There is also a raffle and chances to win a Christmas Cash grand prize.

Straker Foundation assisting with driver's ed program

ZANESVILLE − The J.W. and M.H. Straker Charitable Foundation is assisting Zanesville City Schools with students who wish to participate in a driver's education program through a consortium with the Muskingum Valley and Ohio Valley educational service centers.

The cost of $350 per student has been reduced to $50. Those who complete their program and get their license can receive a $50 fuel card.

Perry County Chamber honors businesses

NEW LEXINGTON − The Perry County Chamber of Commerce recently held a holiday social with business awards presented. Hill Real Estate was earned the small business honor, Genesis Medical Center was large business, Gypsy Hawaii Boutique was named best new business and the Presidential Award went to Destination Shawnee.

ODOT continues I-70 work

ZANESVILLE − The Ohio Department of Transportation is continuing the resurfacing project of Interstate 70 from U.S. 40 to Ohio 93. Starting at 7 p.m. Monday, motorists can expect overnight lane closures from exit 152 to State Street for concrete repairs.

Housing committee meeting

ZANESVILLE − The housing committee of Zanesville City Council will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday at city hall. The 2022 housing project update will be discussed.

West M BOE to meet

ZANESVILLE − The West Muskingum Local Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session at 5 p.m. Dec. 8 in the library of the middle school, 110 Kimes Road.
