Warsaw Alumni holds banquet

WARSAW − The 112th annual Warsaw Alumni Banquet was held recently at Coshocton Christian Tabernacle with 122 registered members, guests and former teachers. Catering was by Schumaker Farms.

Imogene Carter Wilson read the names of those graduates who have died since May 2021. Earliest graduate present was Bob Akins from the Class of 1946, youngest graduate present was Heather Peddicord LePage from the River View Class of 1990, traveling the farthest were Jim and Karen Miller of New Smyrna, Florida, from the Class of 1962, and married the longest were Jack and Judy Clark Singer from the Class of 1956. Robin Snyder, from the Class of 1958, won $115 in the 50/50 drawing.

Honor classes recognized were from 1942, 1947, 1952, 1962 and River View 1967. There were 27 in attendance who had graduated more than 60 years ago. Two former faculty were present, Mary Louise Sexton Newell and Milton Baker. A total of $14,600 was contributed to scholarships for 2022.

For 2023, Merel Cooper will service as alumni president with Jack Berry as president-elect, Bee Buxton Lehner as secretary-treasurer and Imogene Carter Wilson as an executive committee member.

Beginner and Small Farm College set

COSHOCTON − The Ohio State University Extension Office of Coshocton County will offer a Beginner and Small Farm College from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 and 31 and Nov. 7.

The program is designed to help landowners examine potential ways to increase profits on their small acreage properties. It's open to all aspiring farmers, new rural landowners, small farmers and farm families.

Registration is $30 for the first person and $15 for each additional person. The class is limited to 50 people with a registration deadline of Oct. 17. For more information, call 740-622-2265 or go to go.osu.edu/smallfarmcollegereg.

Echoing Hills welcomes new hire

WARSAW − Echoing Hills has named Mark Snyder as the new executive vice president and chief financial officer. He replaces the retiring John Swanson.

Snyder came on Sept. 6 and will oversee the fiscal and asset management of the organization, along with information technology. He brings more than 25 years of professional experience to the post with his entire career being in finance. He has worked as a financial analyst, plant controller, director, chief financial officer and principal.

Snyder brings more than 25 years of professional experience to his new role and has spent his career in finance.

Echoing Hills is a non-profit organization in Warsaw providing residential, educational, recreational and adult service programs throughout the state of Ohio for individuals with disabilities.
