Band to begin new season on June 8

The Cambridge City Band with director Berk Jones will begin its 182nd year of service to Cambridge and the surrounding area at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 8 in the large pavilion of the Cambridge City Park.

The theme for the 2023 concert season is "Let's Go To The Movies" and will feature Aaron Beatty, Angel Rogers, Janet Teichman, Brent Miller, Jim Whitehair, Marge Stover, Greg Milleson and others. Selections include "Pink Panther," "Make Believe," "My Heart Must Go On," and others.

Concessions will be available and served by members of Chordial Chorus including hot dogs and homemade pie. This volunteer group of musicians from ages 13 to 95 is always looking for new members and rehearsals are 7 p.m. on Mondays at the band room on Southgate Parkway in Cambridge. Dunlap inducted into Psi Chi

Olivia Dunlap of Byesville was recognized during Marietta College's commencement for being inducted into the college's chapter of Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology. Dunlap, a graduate of Caldwell High School, majored in psychology.

Trustees to discuss new projects, employment

The Cambridge Township Trustees will hold a special meeting at 7 a.m. Wednesday to review the employment of a public employee(s), paving projects, and salt barn construction.
