City announces leaf pickup schedule

COSHOCTON − The City of Coshocton has announced its leaf pickup schedule, which will repeat until mid-December and be adhered to as closely as weather permits.

Leaves are to be left close to the curb between the curb and sidewalk. Leaves won't be picked up that contain limbs and branches. Vehicles should be off the street where leaves need collected.

Zone 1 on Oct. 24 and 25 will be the south side of Walnut Street to the south corporation line and from Zero Street to the Conrail Railroad. Zone 2 on Oct. 26 and 27 will be the north side of Walnut Street to Sycamore and from Water to Sixth streets. Zone 3 on Oct. 28 and 31 will be the north side of Walnut Street to the city's north corporation limit and from Sixth Street to the city's east corporation line.

Zone 4 on Nov. 1 and 2 is the south side of Walnut Street to the south corporation line and from Ohio Central Railroad to the city's east corporation line. Zone 5 on Nov. 3 and 4 is the south side of Walnut Street to the city's corporation line and from the Conrail Railroad to the Ohio Central Railroad. Roscoe Village is Zone 6 on Nov. 7 and 8.

Roads closing in city for work

COSHOCTON − The City of Coshocton has announced three upcoming road closures. Morgan Run Road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday for asphalt sealing. Chestnut Street will be closed from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for crane work from Third to Fourth streets. Main Street will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 11 from Third to Fourth streets for the Veterans Days ceremony.

Coshocton Schools dismissing early on Wednesday

COSHOCTON − Coshocton City Schools will have a two-hour early dismissal on Wednesday. Junior high and high school students will be dismissed at 12:35 p.m. and elementary students at 1:05 p.m.

Mobile mammogram unit coming

COSHOCTON − The Center for Cancer Health Equity and Ohio State University Cancer Care Center James Cancer Mobile Mammography Unit will be offering screening from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the City of Coshocton Health Department, 400 Browns Lane.

Women must be older than 40 for a screening, or younger than 40 with a doctor's order. For more information or to schedule a screening, call 614-293-6924.

WLFD unveils fire truck

WEST LAFAYETTE − The West Lafayette Fire Department will unveil its new fire truck with a push-in ceremony at 7 p.m. Oct. 29 at the fire station, following trick or treating in the village. Tours of the station will also be given.

Warsaw to hold holiday parade

WARSAW − The Village of Warsaw will have its annual holiday parade at 6 p.m. Nov. 27 with lien up at 5:45 p.m. at River View Community Park. Register for the parade by contacting Bri at 740-294-3837.

Home Loan releases earnings report

COSHOCTON − Home Loan Savings Bank has announced net income of $1.163 million, or 83 cents basic and diluted earnings per share, for the quarter ended Sept. 30. This is up from $995,000, or 71 cents per share, from the same quarter of 2021.

Home Loan credits the rise to an increase in net interest income of $566,000, partially offset by an increase in provision loan losses of $55,000, a decrease in non-interest income of $140,000, an increase in non-interest expense of $158,000 and an increase of $45,000 in federal income taxes.

Home Loan has offices in Coshocton, West Lafayette, Mount Vernon and Newark.

Election letters accepted

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Tribune will accept letters to the editor relating to the Nov. 8 general election until Oct. 28.

Letters are to be no more than 350 words and must include the writer’s full name and city of residency. Also include a phone number for verification purposes only. No letters relating to primary candidates, issues or options will be accepted after the deadline.

∎ Trail and Treat from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26 at Clary Gardens. Cost is $1 a person.

∎ 4 to 5 p.m. Oct. 27 in Roscoe Village

∎ 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 29 throughout Newcomerstown.

∎ Trunk or Treat 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the parking lot of River View High School.

∎ 5 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 29 throughout Conesville, Coshocton, Warsaw and West Lafayette.

∎ ASK Autism Trunk and Treat for anyone with special needs at 2 p.m. Oct. 30 at Hopewell School.
