Mid-East board to meet in Zanesville

The Mid-East Career and Technology Centers Board of Education will meet in regular session at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3 at the Administrative Center on the Zanesville Campus, 400 Richards Road, Zanesville

Township cleanup scheduled

Wills Township trustees will hold a fall cleanup Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Trash bins will be at the township garage, 17629 Easton Road, Salesville. No tires will be accepted this year, no paint, or toxins, nothing flammable or hazardous, and no steel wire or cable.

Residents may drop off items from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Staff will be on duty to help unload during those times or you may drop off after hours.

Chalk on the Walk set

East Muskingum Local Schools is holding its 31st annual Chalk on the Walk event from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Larry Miller Intermediate School, 13125 John Glenn School Road, New Concord.

Students in in kindergarten to eighth grade will being drawing on the sidewalk in chalk with prizes given for first and second place and honorable mention. Contact Stephanie Robinson at 740-439-1645 for more information.

Muskingum U offers Wi-Fi services

Approximately 1,000 students, resident assistants and resident computer lab assistants living and studying at Muskingum University are receiving reliable, high-speed Wi-Fi services from Apogee ResNet services and support.

The university engaged Apogee in July 2021 to deliver ResNet managed services because of the company’s proven experience and solid reputation as a higher education managed technology services provider for more than 350 colleges and universities and more than 1 million students across the United States. Apogee worked alongside Muskingum University housing and IT teams to install and deploy ResNet in less than 30 days in six traditional residence halls along with apartments, townhouses and individual homes.

Campus residents can connect up to 10 devices per student via the Apogee ResNet app . From smartphones to tablets to laptops to IoT devices such as speakers, TVs and personal assistants, Apogee ResNet can accommodate the devices that students want in their living spaces. Getting all these devices online and logging in is easy via single sign-on (SSO) and eduroam support that enables residents to use their school credentials to add devices to the network. Apogee ResNet also delivers a premium “at-home” digital experience with personal area networking (PAN) capabilities that allow students to seamlessly connect all their devices.

Nighthawk Road closure

Richland Township will be closing Nighthawk Road (Township road 59) between Ohio 313 and Salem Road (County Road 74) on Friday.

Food distribution today

G.R.A.C.E. Pantry distribution will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at Christ's Lutheran Church, Social Hall 1101 Steubenville Avenue Cambridge. Everyone must bring a form of identification.
