Health department board meeting on Monday

The Cambridge-Guernsey County Health Department Board of Health will meet in regular session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, at the offices of the health department.

Board of DD to meet tonight

The Guernsey County Board of DD will hold its regular board meeting at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday in the Guernsey County Board of DD Conference Room. Ethics Council will be held at 5 p.m.

Lifetime pass offered to veterans

Veterans of the U.S. Armed Services and Gold Star Families can obtain a free lifetime pass to thousands of federal recreation sites spread out across more than 400 million acres of public lands, including national parks, wildlife refuges, and forests. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will be participating in the new pass program.

The lifetime pass allows for free access to day-use areas at USACE-managed sites. To obtain a lifetime pass when visiting one of the federal recreation sites, veterans can present one of the four forms of acceptable ID: Department of Defense ID Card, Veteran Health ID (VHIC), Veteran ID Card, or veteran’s designation on a state-issued U.S. driver’s license or ID card. The pass can also be obtained by visiting https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/pickup-pass-locations.htm. Gold Star Families can obtain information, self-certify that they qualify, and download a voucher by visiting the U.S. Geological Survey’s online store at https://store.usgs.gov.

Food pantry distribution scheduled

The G.R.A.C.E. Pantry food distribution will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday at Christ's Lutheran Church, 1101 Steubenville Ave., Cambridge. Everyone must bring a form of identification.

CIC and Planning Commission meeting Friday

There will be a joint meeting of the Cambridge-Guernsey County Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and the Guernsey County Planning Commission at 8 a.m. on Friday in the first-floor conference room of the County Administration Building, 627 Wheeling Ave., Cambridge.

Parade registration now available

Registration materials for the 2022 Cambridge Christmas Parade, to be held at 5 p.m. on Nov. 26 are now available. This year's theme is Santa's Workshop. Forms can be picked up at the Main Street offices or downloaded from the website, www.downtowncambridge.com. Registration materials are also available at eventbrite.com. Entry fees are $25 for nonprofit agencies and $50 for all others. The deadline to enter is Friday, after which a $50 late fee will be added to all entries.
