Community Development Committee meeting canceled

ZANESVILLE − The Community Development Committee of Zanesville City Council meeting set for Dec. 27 has been canceled. The next meeting will be at 5 p.m. Jan. 23 at city hall.

Tri-Valley BOE to meet

DRESDEN − Tri-Valley Local Schools Board of Education will hold a budget hearing at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 12 at the administrative center, 36 E. Muskingum Ave., Dresden. There will be two copies of the budget for public viewing.

Following will be the district's records commission meeting, followed by the new year organizational meeting and then the regular board meeting for January.

Locals named to ODU dean's list

COLUMBUS − Students named to the fall semester dean's list at Ohio Dominican University were Morgan Cornwell of Mount Perry, Laruen Lucas of Thornville and Lauren Thomas of Somerset.

Raffle winners named

ZANEVILLE − The Zanesville Rotary Clubs 12 Days of Christmas raffle winners for Tuesday will receive $250 in cash from Bayer Heritage Federal Credit Union, a $100 gift card to American Pride and a front end alignment from Joe Buckey tire.

Winners were Andrew Bryan, Joyce Schilling, Cheryl Sylvester and Peggy Cater.

Center Driver closing for storm water work

ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville has announced that Center Drive will be closed from Taylor Street to Rankin Drive on Wednesday for installing of a storm water line. Caution is urged in the work zone and motorists should find an alternate route if possible.

No students injured in bus crash

ZANESVILLE − The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported a school bus crash at 8:15 a.m. Monday on the Maysville Pike.

Sgt. Jeff Jirles said Maysville Local Schools bus 15 was westbound on U.S. 22 when it stopped to pickup students and was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Mark Dunkle II, 37,of Roseville. Jirles said none of the 37 children on the bus were injured.
