MU to hold its first indoor track and field meet

NEW CONCORD − Muskingum University is hosting its first ever indoor track and field meet at 11 a.m. Jan. 14 at the Bullock Health and Wellness Complex.

The inaugural meet will feature Muskingum, Wittenberg, Denison, Cuyahoga Community College, West Liberty, Rio Grande, Geneva and Washington and Jefferson. Several live video feeds and live stat options will be available to follow at fightinggmuskies.com.

Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for students and children age 5 and under are free. Muskingum University faculty and staff and their families, students and parents of student-athletes can be admitted for free as well. Tickets are available at fightingmuskies.com/athletics/tickets.

Additional home meets are planned for Jan. 21 and 28 and Feb. 17. Three high school meets will also be at the complex this season.

CFLP financial statement available

NEWARK − The Coshocton-Fairfield-Licking-Perry Solid Waste Management District financial statement for 2022 has been submitted to the Ohio State Auditor.

Locals make BWU dean's list

BEREA − Matthew Baldwin and Kinzer Manning of Zanesville and Katelyn Baughman of Roseville were named to the fall semester dean's list at Baldwin Wallace University. Baldwin is majoring in music education, Baughman in music theater and Manning in sociology.

Locals achieve at MC

MARIETTA − Several local students have been named to the fall semester dean's high honors list at Marietta College. Making the list were Chase Stephen, Blade Barclay and Ryan House of New Concord; Emmah Kronenbitter and Grant Moore of Zanesville; Karsan Ross of Nashport; and Kelly Niceswanger of Stockport.

Named to the dean's list were Camille Gillespie of McConnelsville, Harley Hopkins and Makenzie Vandenbark of Zanesville, Alex Posey of New Lexington, Sydni Wilson of East Fultonham and Beau Priest of Dresden.

Franklin Schools to hold kindergarten registration

DUNCAN FALLS − Kindergarten registration for Franklin Local Schools will be at 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at Duncan Falls and Roseville elementary schools.

Children must be 5-years-old on or before Aug. 1. Parents are to bring their child’s birth certificate, immunization records, proof of residency and custody papers, if applicable.

Children should register at their attending school. If unable to register at the set time and day, contact the school to make other arrangements. Duncan Falls Elementary can be called at 740-674-5211 and Roseville Elementary at 740-697-7216.
