Newcomerstown residents in Saturday crash

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a two-vehicle traffic crash at 12:48 p.m. Saturday in the 25000 block of Ohio 751 in Adams Township.

Authorities said Taylor Hostetler, 27, of Newcomerstown, was driving a 2007 Toyota northbound and prepared to turn left into a driveway. She was behind a large combine and when she turned left, failed to yield for a 2012 Fiat heading southbound driven by Ernie Eltringham, 45, of Newcomerstown. The Toyota flipped and landed on its driver's side. A passenger in the Fiat left the scene before first responders arrived, they were not located.

Hostetler was not injured in the wreck. Eltringham was transported from the scene by MedFlight to Akron City Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Assisting on scene were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Bakersville Fire Department, MedFlight and Prince's Wrecker Service.

Car hits deer on Ohio 83

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a vehicle striking a deer at 5:26 a.m. Sunday on Ohio 83, just north of Township Road 277.

Donald Smith, 29, of Coshocton, was heading north in a 1998 Buick when the deer ran into his path. Smith and passenger Bruce Collins, 22, of Warsaw, were transported from the scene for treatment of minor injuries at Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Assisting on scene were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Conesville Fire Department and Prince's Wrecker Service.

First Step receives state grant

COLUMBUS − The Office of Gov. Mike DeWine recently awarded nearly $3.6 million to 67 victim service providers, funding projects in 51 Ohio counties. This includes a grant of $40,311.98 to First Step Family Violence Intervention Services of Coshocton County.

Church to hold bazaar

COSHOCTON − A holiday bazaar will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 1500 Pleasant Valley Drive. It will feature homemade noodles, angel food cakes, lunch stand, cookie table, baked goods, crafts and white elephant sale.

Chili Church schedules events

FRESNO − Three events are upcoming at Chili Crossroads Bible Church, 29445 County Road 10, Fresno.

The community is invited to eat deep fried turkey at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 20. A Christmas celebration featuring a ham dinner, special music, candle lighting, bounce houses and crafts is at 10:30 a.m. Dec. 18. Attendees are encouraged to wear flannel for Flannels and Flapjacks at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 25. All events are free and open to the public.

River View BOE to meet

WARSAW − The River View Board of Education will meet in regular session at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the library of River View High School.

The meeting will include public input for the use of federal money related to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) for the current school year. The purpose of the funds is to pay excess costs of providing special education and related services to children and youth from birth to age 22 with a disability and served with individualized education plan.
