ServSafe food protection certification training offered

COSHOCTON − The ServSafe Manager Food Safety Training course will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8, 15 and 22 at the Coshocton County Services Building, 724 S. Seventh St. The proctored exam will be at 9 a.m. June 29.

The program meets Ohio Department of Health Manager Certification in Food Protection requirements by providing in-depth food safety and safe food handling education for owners, managers and operators within the food service industry. This training enhances understanding of major food safety principles, including factors leading to contamination of food, time and temperature abuse, cross-contamination and personal hygiene.

Class size is limited to 15 participants. Pre-registration is required at go.osu.edu/servsafecoshocton.

A separate ServSafe Person-in-Charge certification training will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 15 at the county services building. For more information and registration, contact Emily Marrison at 740-622-2265 or marrison.12@osu.edu.

Writers guild meeting

COSHOCTON − Coshocton Write-On Writers Guild will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. May 1 in the small meeting room of the Coshocton Public Library, 655 Main St. The writing prompt is sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite.
