Coshocton man charged with pandering

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office Special Victims Unit reported an investigation Dec. 4 into child pornography. A man was taken into custody related to that investigation on Dec. 6.

Michael A. Jacob, 55, of Coshocton, was formally charged on Dec. 7 with pandering obscenity involving a minor, a fourth-degree felony. The Coshocton County Prosecutor's Office is reviewing the case and more charges are possible. Coshocton County Job and Family Services is also assisting with the matter.

No injuries in Ohio 541 wreck

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a traffic crash at 2:39 a.m. Thursday in the 39000 block of Ohio 541 in Bedford Township.

Authorities said Christopher A. Huebner, 28, of Coshocton, was eastbound when he fell asleep and went left of center and down an embankment. Huebner admitted to deputies that he consumed alcohol and took medication not prescribed to him. Huebner was treated and released on scene. Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services and Prince's Wrecker Service.

Vehicle wrecks to miss deer

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a traffic crash at 1:11 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Ohio 16 and Franklin Township Road 347.

Authorities said Christopher A. Farrar, 33, of West Lafayette, was traveling east when he swerved to avoid a deer. He went left of center, into a ditch and then struck a culvert. The vehicle flipped onto its top. Farrar was treated and released on scene. Assisting were Conesville Fire Department, Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services and Prince's Wrecker Service.

TLC having Holiday Halls

WARSAW − River View Teen Leadership Corps is holding a Holiday Halls event from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at River View High School, 26496 Ohio 60, Warsaw.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for students. Activities will include coloring pages, ornament and cookie decorating, a hot chocolate bar and hallways to walk through decorated for Christmas. Proceeds benefit the TLC club.

Historical Club celebrating holidays

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Historical Club is having a Christmas dinner at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the fellowship hall of Roscoe United Methodist Church, 475 High St.

Cost is $15 and it's catered by Schumaker Farms. Rev. Larry Bobbitt will present a program on the song "O Holy Night." Les Widder will lead the singing of carols.

Coshocton City Schools BOE to meet

COSHOCTON − Coshocton City Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 15 in the library of Coshocton Elementary School, 1203 Cambridge Road.

Benefit planned for Griffith Memorial Scholarship

WEST LAFAYETTE − The Ridgewood Boys Basketball Booster Club is holding an alumni boys basketball game and chicken dinner to benefit the Trevor Griffith Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Dinner is 4:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 30 in the cafeteria of Ridgewood High School. It includes a half chicken, cheesy potatoes, green beans, roll, dessert and water. Takeout dinners are available. Mega Music will be playing music.

Tickets are $12 and are available from Coach Dolick and at junior high and high school sports concession stands. Cost to play in the game is $25 and includes a T-shirt. Registration and dinner tickets due by Monday.

Blood drives scheduled

COSHOCTON − Three American Red Cross blood drives are scheduled upcoming in the local area. They are from noon to 6 p.m. Dec. 12 at New Castle Church in Walhonding, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Coshocton County Career Center and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 23 at Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Rotary Club names raffle winners

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Rotary Club on Tuesday awarded 11 $25 gift certificates to Coshocton Coffee Connection/Whit's Frozen Custard. Winners were Chris Graham, Sherry Kirkpatrick, Megan Baughman, John Eikenberry, Dixie Wilson, Becky Jacobs, Jim Mercantile, Sandi Little, Luke Brown, Tom Tiedt and Laurie Sarsfield. The bonus $100 went to Ashley Lingo.

Winners on Wednesday received a pizza a month for 10 months from Papa John's Pizza. They were Marilyn Shroyer, Ardie Varian, Carole Cornell, Cindy Light, Monica Bookless, Jan Arnold, Steve Nelson, Barb Fortner, Jodie Meek and David Kehl. The bonus $100 went to Andy Spillman.
