Traffic pattern changes at Third and Locust

COSCHOTON − The City of Coshocton announced the intersection of North Third and Locust streets became a four-way stop on Thursday. Traffic pattern change signs were posted. Painting of the intersection is scheduled for Monday.

Car and bike show planned

COSHOCTON − The third annual Coshocton Community Car and Bike Show benefitting Blue Star Mothers will be from 1 to 7 p.m. July 1 on the Coshocton Court Square. Vehicle registration is $10 with trophies presented at 6 p.m.

The event will feature the Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall, vendors, live entertainment, raffles, 50/50 drawing and food trucks. Find more information on the event's Facebook page. Fireworks will be at dusk from the Coshocton County Fairgrounds.

Rock Coshocton returns

COSHOCTON − The second annual Rock Coshocton Festival will be July 21 to 23 at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds, 707 Kenilworth Ave.

That Friday will feature the Disturbed tribute act Stupify, Charlie Bonner III and the GasHoles and the Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band FreeBird. Saturday will feature Common Vice, SoHi, the Motley Crue tribute Theater of Crue, the Bon Jovi tribute Shot Through the Heart, Charlie Bonner III and the GasHoles and the Guns 'n Roses tribute Nightrain.

Sunday will have a motor show from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with registration at 9 a.m. Autocross starts at 1 p.m. with registration at 9 a.m. Motorcycle games will be throughout the weekend and there will be a pleasure ride on Saturday.

Poker run planned

COSHOCTON −The first ever Clayton Carkin Forever 21 Poker Run will be July 29 at AMVETS Post 36, 986 Otsego Ave. Registration is at 11 a.m. with vehicles leaving at noon. Motorcycles and ATVs are welcome.

Cost is $25 for a single rider and $30 per couple with food included. Proceeds go toward a headstone for Carkin. There will be a 50/50 drawing, silent auction and games. Matt and Earnie perform from 2 to 5 p.m. and Josh Ackley with band is from 6 to 9 p.m.

Theater camp at Clary Gardens

COSHOCTON −A theater camp will be held from July 17 to 21 at Clary Gardens with a performance on July 23. Pre-k through fifth grade will meet from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and sixth to 12th grades is 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Cost is $10 per child per day or $40 for the week. Facilitator is Mary McMullen, a costume designer and drama director for River View High School.

Buckeye Brine seeking new well

COSHOCTON − The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency will hold an information session and public hearing to discuss a draft permit application by Buckeye Brine for construction of a new Class I non-hazardous waste injection well at its site, 23986 Airport Road. The session will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Roscoe United Methodist Church, 475 High St.

Written comments will be received through July 7 and can be emailed to ddagwcomments@epa.ohio.gov or mailed to Ohio EPA Division of Drinking and Ground Waters, P.O. Box 1049, Columbus, OH 43216-1049. A copy of the permit can be viewed online or at Ohio EPA’s Southeast District Office, 2195 East Front Street, Logan. Call 740-385-8501 for an appointment.

Westward Road performing

COSHOCTON − Grace United Methodist Church will present the gospel group Westward Road at 6 p.m. July 2 at the Coshocton Court Square.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket. The trio consists of Scott and Kelli Roberts and their son, Garrett Roberts. The concert is part of Grace UMC thanking the community for its support following a fire at the church in last year.

Summer Crisis Program starting

COSHOCTON − The Ohio Department of Development and Area Agency on Aging, Region 9, is offering a summer crisis program for income eligible residents for assistance in paying electric bills or repairs for central air conditioning units. The program runs from July 1 to Sept. 30.

One must provide copies of must recent energy bills, list of each household member and proof of income, proof of citizenship, proof of disability if applicable and physician documentation on need of cooling assistance for a household member's health if there isn't someone 60 or older in the home.
