Local News Briefs: Car show slated for Sept. 25 in Glenford

Car show upcoming in Perry County

GLENFORD — The Perry County Chamber of Commerce's annual car show will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 25 at Vinberige Vineyards, 5400 Ohio 204, Glendford. Rain date is Oct. 3.

Entry fee is $25. The event will feature music by DJ Daniel Custer, dash plaque trophies and prizes, 50/50 drawing, basket raffles, food trucks and the winery will be open.

Students earn scholarships

ZANESVILLE — Twenty graduating seniors are receiving scholarships through the Muskingum County Community Foundation.

Caleb Silvia of West Muskingum High School received the Corley and Melodie Thomas Scholarship. The Grant Hickman Memorial Scholarship went to Samuel Lightle and Slade Young of Zanesville High School and Clayton Matheny of Bishop Rosecrans High School. Rachel Smith of Bishop Rosecrans got the Muskingum County Democrat Club Scholarship.

Receiving Josephine Sebach Education Fund scholarships were Amasia Barnett, Reagan Bonnett, Buddy Starcher and Brooke Colling of Philo, Harlie Bigham, Caleb Dreier, Hannah Fulkerson, Laikyn Lewellen and Delaney Winsor of Maysville, Karly Decker, Julian Goines-Jackson and RaShaun Merriman of Zanesville, Blake Freeland of John Glenn and Anna Krupa and Rachel Meadows of Tri-Valley.

Matson Retirement providing sunflower festival discounts

NEWARK — Matson Retirement Planning of Zanesville is offering $5 off coupons for online ticket purchases for 22 Acres Farm sunflower fields in Newark.

The facility has more than five acres with a variety of sunflowers for picking and photo taking. The festival this year will also have a lavender and pollinator garden and several vendors.

The first 50 using the Matson retirement code will also receive via email a $1 off coupon for a drink at the Honey Hive Beverage Trailer.

Sephora opening at Kohl's

ZANESVILLE — A new Sephora will open Aug. 3 inside Kohl's, 3825 Gorsky Drive.

The 2,5000-square-foot space will be similar to a freestanding Sephora. It will feature a variety of makeup, health and beauty products and a team of beauty advisers. It's one of 400 Sephora outlets opening inside Kohl's stores this year.
