Local News Briefs: Closures announced for U.S. 22 and Old Newark Road

ODOT continues road work

ZANESVILLE — The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that U.S. 22 will be reduced to one lane of traffic from June 13 to 24 for a culvert repair at Brookside Drive. Two-way traffic will maintained with a temporary signal.

Old Newark Road will close under Interstate 70 from June 16 to 18 for a beam installation part of I-70 reconstruction project.

Hydrant flushing set

ZANESVILLE — The City of Zanesville Water Division will be flushing fire hydrants from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. next week.

Monday will be Brighton, Lexington, Virginia and Ohio streets. Tuesday will be Penn, Cornell, Stewart, Gray and Corwin streets. Wednesday will be Pine, Chamberlin, Seborn, Federal and Clay streets. Thursday is Woodlawn, Putnam, Moxahala and Muskingum avenues. Friday is Licking Road and West Main, Jackson, Meadows and State streets. All surrounding areas will be included.

Residents may experience discolored water and reduced pressure. It's advised to wait until after 4 p.m. to do laundry.

West M BOE to meet

ZANESVILLE — The West Muskingum Local Schools Board of Education will meet in regular session at 5 p.m. Thursday in the library of West Muskingum Middle School, 100 Kimes Road.

ZMHA having session

ZANESVILLE — The Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority Board will meet in regular session at 5:15 p.m. June 23 at the board office, 407 Pershing Road.
