Two injured in CR 1A wreck

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a two-vehicle crash at 12:16 p.m. Saturday on County Road 1A, near Skip's Landing.

Authorities said a juvenile was traveling south, going left of center and striking head-on a vehicle operated by Susan Cottrill of West Lafayette. Both vehicles suffered heavy front end damage and Cottrill was extricated by mechanical means. Both parties were transported to Coshocton Genesis Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries. The name of the juvenile was not released.

Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Three Rivers Fire District, REACT and Prince's Wrecker Service.

Motorcycle spills in driveway

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a one-vehicle crash at 8:40 p.m. Friday in the 19000 block of Oxford Township Road 262.

Authorities said David L. Nicely, 28, of Coshocton was operating a motorcycle on private property when he lost control and wrecked in a gravel driveway. Nicely was transported to Coshocton Genesis Medical Center for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services and West Lafayette Fire Department.

Minor injures in Second Street wreck

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office reported a two-vehicle crash at 4:42 p.m. Friday on South Second Street, near Aldi's.

Authorities said Brandon Hunt of Coshocton was traveling south when struck the rear of a vehicle operated by Debora Mills of Dresden. Bobbie Mills was a passenger in the vehicle. Debora was transported to Coshocton Genesis Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Assisting were Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services, Coshocton Fire Department, REACT and Prince's Wrecker Service.

Broadband listening session planned

COSHOCTON − Buckeye Hills Regional Council is holding a series of broadband listening sessions across Southern and Eastern Ohio from May 30 to June 22.

A local session will be from 1 to 4 p.m. May 30 in large meeting room of Coshocton Public Library, 665 Main St.

The sessions are for residents to share issues they face and possible solutions regarding accessing internet services. This can include affordability, access to services or devices or lack of digital skills. Especially being sought is input form those who are or who work with low income households, older adults, incarcerated individuals, veterans, people with disabilities, people with language barriers, racial and ethnic minorities and rural residents. Information will go to BroadbandOhio for its Ohio Digital Equity Plan.

Genesis offering sports physicals

ZANESVILLE − Genesis Primary Care, Genesis Orthopedics and Genesis Occupational Health will offer free sports physicals from 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. weekdays through June 15 at Genesis Physician Services, 23599 Airport Road.

Walk-ins are welcome, or schedule by calling 740-722-9568. A parent or guardian must accompany a minor. Students athletes need to bring a signed Ohio High School Athletic Association form. Go to genesishcs.org/coshocton for more information.

Hall named prosecutor

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Republican Central Committee recently selected Ben Hall as the new Coshocton County Prosecutor by unanimous vote. He was previously named interim prosecutor by Coshocton County Commissioners. Hall replaces Jason Given, who is now judge of Coshocton County Juvenile and Probate Court.

Mullet makes dean's list

COLUMBUS − Brynn Mullet of Millersburg was named to the spring semester dean's list at Ohio Dominican University.

Locals enter honor societies

COSHOCTON − Josie Fornara of Coshocton was inducted into the Phi Betta Kappa academic honor society recently at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Samantha Corbett of Coshocton was inducted recently into the Mu Psi Kappa honor society at Marietta College. The graduate of River View High School is majoring in music education.
