Cyclists coming through Zanesville
ZANESVILLE − A cross-country team of bicycle riders pedaling its way across the country in support of Shriners Hospitals for Children are scheduled to come through Zanesville on June 15.
Cycling enthusiasts are riding along with the team for parts of the 45-day trek from the Pacific Ocean in southern California to the Statue of Liberty. Masonic Lodges and Shriners are hosting receptions along the path.Anyone who would like to ride along with the team or host any sort of reception, may contact their local Masonic Lodge or a local Shriner. Zanesville students named to PWU dean's list
CALIFORNIA, PENNSYLVANIA − Cora Belle Wilkins and Macie Jarrett of Zanesville were named to the spring semester dean's list at Pennsylvania Western University.
Abele makes dean's list
ST. CLOUD, MINNESOTA − Wyatt Abele of McConnelsville was named to the spring semester dean's list at St. Cloud State University. He's majoring in mechanical engineering.
Bishoff valedictorian for OCA
COLUMBUS − Rose Bishoff of Thornville recently graduated from Ohio Connections Academy as valedictorian for the 2023 class. Jonathan Coffield of Zanesville was also a graduate.
COTC announces academic lists
NEWARK − Central Ohio Technical College has released academic lists for the spring semester.
Named to the president's list were Brittany Combs of Mount Sterling, Hunter Beverley of Frazeysburg, Brittany Adams and Jennifer Williams of Zanesville and Melissa Carter, Sydney George and Lauren Hogan of Thornville.
Named to the dean's list were Lauren Beverley and Ashley Mulvaney of Frazeysburg; Cassie Daniels of Mount Sterling; Karsyn Lentz of Somerset; Olivia Alward, Bailey Goodrich and Austin Hendrickson of Thornville; and Amanda Arnold, Menina Jackson and Sarah Reed of Zanesville.
Blood drives scheduled
ZANESVILLE − Several American Red Cross blood drives have been scheduled for the local area.
Drives will be 1 to 7 p.m. June 12 at the Adamsville Community Center, noon to 6 p.m. June 19 at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church in Duncan Falls, noon to 6 p.m. June 22 at John Glenn High School in New Concord, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 28 at Secrest Auditorium and from 1 to 7 p.m. June 12 and 26 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 13, 16 and 20 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
Drives in Perry County are from 1 to 7 p.m. June 8 at the Somerset American Legion Hall, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 16 at Perry Behavioral Health Choices in New Lexington and noon to 6 p.m. June 29 at New Lexington High School.
Drives in Morgan County will be from 1 to 7 p.m. June 14 at Stockport United Methodist Church and noon to 6 p.m. June 16 at Malta United Methodist Church in the youth building.
