Drug raid on Cambridge Road

COSHOCTON − Eugene B. McCall, 70, of Coshocton was charged with trafficking in drugs, a second-degree felony, following the execution of a search warrant last week.

The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office, with the detective division and special response team, conducted the search in the 500 block of Cambridge Road, where they recovered suspected drugs, cash, drug-related items and a firearm.

Family events at KOA Campground

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton KOA Campground is having two family events in July at its location, 24688 County Road 10.

A nature themed family day will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. July 8 with educational workshops, bubble party, and wagon rides. Register for the free event by calling 740-502-9245 or emailing coshocton@koa.com.

KOA is also partnering with the Coshocton Public Library for an exploring nature walk and wagon rides for youth from 6 to 7 p.m. July 11. Register at coshoctonlibrary.org.

Quilt show winners named

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Canal Quilters has announced winners from its recent annual quilt show. Mary Anderson was the raffle winner. Basket winners were Denver Shriver, Nikki Farley, Debbie Ames, Donna Young and Cammie Myers.

Ice cream social planned

KEENE − An ice cream social will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at Keene United Methodist Church, 27100 County Road 1.

Tractor show is July 9

BAKERSVILLE − The Coshocton County Antique Power Association will hold its annual show from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 8 and noon to 5 p.m. July 9 at the Bakesville Community Park.

The featured tractor will be Allis Chalmers. The food stand will be open and there will be farm toy dealer sales. A kiddie tractor pull will be at noon that Saturday, tractor games at 2 p.m. and Co-Mus String Pickers will play from 6 to 8 p.m.

King competes at SkillsUSA

COSHOCTON − Cooper King of Coshocton and a student at the Coshocton County Career Center won a skill point certificate in electronics technology at the recent SkillsUSA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia.

Locals achieve in college

ATHENS − Several local students were named to the spring semester dean's list at Ohio University. Named to the spring semester dean's list at the University of Findlay were Ryan Gildow of Warsaw, Lindsay Griffith of West Lafayette, William Schlabach of Millersburg and Lucas Massie and Cal Shrimplin of Coshocton.

Jackson Oliver of Millersburg was named to the spring semester dean's list at John Carroll University.

Coshocton Senior Center events for July

∎ An Independence Day celebration will be at 11 a.m. July 3 with the Walhonding Rub Band playing. There will be hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and cherry crisp. ∎- A paint party with the Coshocton Art Guild 1 p.m. July 10. ∎ A movie matinee of "Book Club" 1 p.m. July 12. ∎ Mike Hoskins will play piano 11 a.m. July 14. ∎ A celebration of those age 90 and older noon July 19, with monthly at 1 p.m. with making of a primitive sign.
