Fly-in and car show at airport

ZANESVILLE − The 23rd annual fly-in and car show will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 23, at the Zanesville Municipal Airport, 850 Airport Road.

The event will feature Grimes Flying Laboratory, food, model engines and helicopter and plane rides. Live entertainment will be by the Dancin' Divas and Schubach Big Band.

Ways and Means Committee cancels meeting

ZANESVILLE − The Ways and Means Committee of Zanesville City Council has canceled its meeting for Monday. The next regular meeting will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 16 in council chambers at city hall.

ZMHA to meet

ZANESVILLE − The Zanesville Metropolitan Housing Authority board will meet in regular session at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 28 at the board office, 407 Pershing Road.

Foster parent classes offered

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Adult and Child Protective Services will have foster parent pre-service training classes at 6 p.m. Tuesdays, starting Oct. 3, in the second floor meeting room of the ACPS offices, 205 N. Seventh St. There will be 11 classes total.

Shred day planned Oct. 28

ZANESVILLE − Good Deeds Service Club of Gleaner Life Insurance Society is partnering with Matson Retirement Planning for a community shred day from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 28, in the Matson parking lot, 1166 Military Road.

Shred-It-Services will provide shredding of documents with Grace & Grounds Coffee Truck selling craft coffee beverages. Shredding is free, but donations will be accepted for the veterans Christmas program through VFW Post 1058.

South Zanesville flushing fire hydrants

SOUTH ZANESVILLE − The Village of South Zanesville will be flushing fire hydrants within the village and other service areas on Sept. 20, from 9 a.m. until completed. Residents may experience discoloration and low water pressure. Refrain from doing laundry until water clears. Any water softeners or water filtering systems may wished to be shut off during that time.

OVO having anniversary show

MCCONNELSVILLE − The Ohio Valley Opry is having its 23rd anniversary show at 6 p.m. Saturday, at the Twin City Opera House, 15 W. Main St., McConnelsville. Doors open at 5 p.m.

The French Family Band will showcase the last hour. Other performers include the Clarks, Gary Sigler, Dave Morrison, Bryant Sigler, Andrew Ruggles, Matt Coleman, Mike Morrison, Beth Bigham and Dylan Mayle.

Tickets can be purchased online, by calling 740-525-9218, or at the door. Tickets range from $15 to $25.
