Learn about kayaking at Dillon Park

NASHPORT − Introduction to kayaking will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. May 25 at Dillon State Park, 5265 Dillon Hills Road, Nashport.

The course will feature a discussion on kayak safety, components and basic maneuverability followed by some time on the water. All equipment will be provided.

Registration is required. The class is for those ages 12 and older. Register by emailing michael.durst@dnr.ohio.gov or call 740-915-1896.

Movie night under the stars planned

NASHPORT − Movie Night Under the Stars will be at 9 p.m. May 26 at the Camp Store Stage at Dillon State Park, 5265 Dillon Hills Road, Nashport.

Popcorn will be provided by Friends of Dillon State Park. The movie screened will be "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs." Bring blankets, chairs, snacks and beverages. For more information, email michael.durst@dnr.ohio.gov or call 740-915-1896.

Trash collection for Memorial Day

ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville Sanitation Division will work a regular schedule the week of May 29 and there will be no delay in service for Memorial Day.

ZANESVILLE − Muskingum County Commissioners will hold a special session at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the session room of the Muskingum County Courthouse for the purpose of opening bids for the Cleanface Project.

Hydrants being checked

ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville Water Division is flushing fire hydrants from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday in the areas of Pine, Luck, Abington, West Main and Carey streets and Pershing Avenue along with all related side streets.

Residents may experience low water pressure and discoloration and should refrain from doing laundry until after 4 p.m.
