Maple Avenue restricted for work

ZANESVILLE − The City of Zanesville has announced water main installation and roadway repairs will be performed from Wednesday to Friday near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Dresden Road.

The center turn lane and left lane northbound on Maple Avenue will be restricted to one lane from McConnell Avenue to Dresden Road. Lane closures and traffic patterns will be posted with message boards, signs and barrels. Motorists should find alternate routes if possible.

ODOT doing work in Perry County

NEW LEXINGTON − The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced that resurfacing and related work on Ohio 757, from Ohio 13 to Ohio 204, will start Thursday with traffic maintained by flaggers.

Ways and Means Committee to meet

ZANESVILLE − The Ways and Means Committee of Zanesville City Council will meet at 5 p.m. Monday in council chambers at city hall. Discussed will be community ambulance and an ordinance regarding funding for replacement of electrical switchgear control components and programmable logic controllers at the water treatment plant.

Hydrants checked on Monday

ZANESVILLE − The water division of the City of Zanesville will be flushing fire hydrants from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday in the general area of Main, South and Marietta streets and all related side streets. This is a continuation of working started on Friday. Residents may experience discolored water and low pressure and should refrain from doing laundry until after 4 p.m.

Homeless Hands gets Hileman funding

NELSVONVILLE − Homeless Hands of Zanesville recently received funding from the Dale Hileman Legacy Fund through the Foundation for Appalachian Ohio. Chosen projects promote economic development and growth in their areas.

Homeless Hands will use the money for its media center services project, through which IT professionals will help shelter residents obtain employment by providing computer training and assistance with resume building and job applications.
