Memorial concert for Leah Clark

McCONNELSVILLE − The Ohio Valley Opry will have a memorial concert to honor Leah Clark at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Twin City Opera House, 15 W. Main St., McConnelsville.

Clark died in June 2018 of complications from cystic fibrosis. Proceeds will benefit the Memorial Health Foundation. Performing will be the Clark Family, Brian Bragg, Davis Eckert, Jake Allen, Dylan Mayle, Sam Rupe and many others.

Tickets range from $15 to $25 and are available online or by calling 740-525-9218.

Clark graduates training academy

COLUMBUS − The 148th Basic Peace Officer Class of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy recently graduated 40 students becoming officers at 19 Ohio agencies. This included Alex M. Clark for the McConnelsville Police Department.

Adamsville Homecoming upcoming

ADAMSVILLE − The annual Adamsville Homecoming will be July 19 to 23.

The parade will be at 6:30 p.m. that Wednesday with 25 cent bingo starting after the parade until 10 p.m. On Thursday will be the Melissa Marie School of Dance at 6 p.m., Dance Express and kids pedal pull at 7 p.m. and Appalachian Outlaws at 7:45 p.m.

That Friday will feature a garden tractor pull at 6 p.m. and TDT Band at 8 p.m. That Saturday will be a farm tractor pull at 10 a.m. followed by stock truck pulls, kids games at 2 p.m., Whiskey Ridge playing from 8 to 11 p.m., fireworks at dusk and the wagon raffle at 11 p.m.

A wristband for kids' amusement rides will be $15 in advance and $20 at the homecoming.

Blood drives scheduled

ZANESVILLE − Several Red Cross blood drives have been scheduled upcoming for the local area.

Drives will be from noon to 6 p.m. July 13 at North Terrace Church of Christ, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 15 at Rolling Plains United Methodist Church in South Zanesville and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 17 and 1 to 7 p.m. July 24 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church.

A drive will be from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 18 at the Morgan County Riecker Building in McConnelsville.

Drives will be 2 to 7 p.m. July 13 at the Hope Acts Building in New Straitsville, 8 a.m. to noon July 15 at the Junction City American Legion Hall, 1 to 7 p.m. July 25 at the Tecumseh Theater in Shawnee, noon to 6 p.m. July 24 at the St. Rose Catholic Church in New Lexington and noon to 5 p.m. July 28 at Crooksville Elementary School.
