Movie night for the dogs at artPARK

COSHOCTON − The Pomerene Center for the Arts and Coshocton County Animal Shelter are having an end of summer movie, for the dogs movie night at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in the artPARK on Main Street.

The event will feature a beer garden and popcorn for sale. Shown will be the short "Frankenweenie" by Tim Burton, followed by Wes Anderson's "Dogs."

The goal is to raise about $1,000 for the animal shelter. Another fundraiser was held Sept. 10 with Evan Abood performing. To make a donation, go to pomerenearts.org/make-a-donation.

Footlight Players to hold auditions

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Footlight Players is having auditions for "Jerry Finnegan's Sister" at 1 p.m. and "A Gift to Remember" at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at the Triple Locks Theater, 685 N. Whitewoman St. Both are directed by Susan Metz Guthrie.

"A Gift to Remember" has parts for seven women and six men ages 18 and up and for a female child ages 5 to 8. Also needed are male and female singers for a small choir with limited stage time and an abbreviated rehearsal schedule. Performance dates are Dec. 1, 2, 8, 9, 10, 15 and 16.

"Jerry Finnegan's Sister" has parts for one man and one woman ages 18 to 25. Performances will be Feb. 10, 16, 17, 18, 25 and 24.

Pickleball club to hold family event

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Pickleball Club is having a family fun day from 2 to 4 p.m. Sept. 24 at Kids America, 1600 Otsego Ave. A battle of the badges featuring local first responders will be at 3:30 p.m. and pizza is at 4 p.m.

SWCD banquet and awards planned

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District will have its 81st annual meeting and banquet Oct. 19 at the Lake Park Pavilion, 23253 Ohio 83. Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner and voting for supervisors at 7 p.m.

Featured speaker will be Dale Arnold, director of energy, utility and local government policy for the Ohio Farm Bureau Foundation. Awards will also be given for outstanding conservation farmer, big tree contest and junior fair hay show winners.

Fall foliage tour focuses on northwest

COSHOCTON − The 52nd annual fall foliage and farm tour will be Oct. 21 and 22 with a focus on the northwest corner of Coshocton County.

The drive it yourself tour highlights local scenery and fall colors along with showcasing local agricultural industry and attractions. More than 1,600 attendees participated last year.

Stops will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Maps will be available at River View Community Park from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and noon to 3 p.m. Sunday. Donations are accepted.

Value Line now offered through Coshocton Library system

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County District Library is now offering Value Line as part of digital offerings, available with a library card.

Blood drives set for the local area

COSHOCTON − The American Red Cross will have blood drives from noon to 6 p.m. Sept. 15 at Roscoe United Methodist Church and Coshocton Regional Medical Center, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 18 and 20 at Roscoe UMC and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 29 at Coshocton Elementary School.
