Tuscarawas Clinic earns Gold Rating

DOVER − The Tuscarawas Clinic for the Working Uninsured earned a 2023 Gold Rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Quality Standards Program.

NAFC members voluntarily submit information to the NAFC on the various policies and procedures in place to attain their standards rating and attest/pledge that they successfully incorporate these standards within their organization.

NAFC Quality Standards elements include policies and procedures related to administrative, clinic/pharmacy responsibilities, credentialing and privileging systems, patient care, and risk management systems.

MWCD campsites permits pets

NEW PHILADELPHIA – The Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District (MWCD) announces that all MWCD campsites are100% pet-friendly. In addition, select cabins at each lake now allow pets.

While pets will be permitted in all areas, they must be on a leash and owners must clean up after them. Those not following rules will be asked to leave our parks. And for cabins, a non-refundable $50 per pet fee will also be applied for cabin guests.

The MWCD lakes offer hiking trails, marinas with boat rentals, and plenty of green space. Atwood Lake Park is the only location with a dog park, but more locations are under consideration in the future.

Tuscarawas County court gets grant

NEW PHILADELPHIA − The Supreme Court of Ohio has awarded the Tuscarawas County Probate and Juvenile Court an $11,698 technology grant to update the court’s public records room with a second records station. The new scanner, computer, printer and enhanced software will allow for the viewing and printing of microfilmed records. The court’s records date to 1808.

A similar grant from the Ohio Supreme Court in 2016 purchased the court’s first modern public records station.

Dover Public Library adds culture passes

DOVER – The Dover Public Library has added culture passes for people see many different museums and places of interest for free. The passes offered now are Alpine Hills Museum, Belmont County Heritage Museum,Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, Fort Laurens, Johnson Humrickhouse Museum, McCook House State Memorial Civil War Museum, Reeves Museum, Spring Hill Historic Home and Zoar Historic Village with more to be added.
