Street closure for car show

COSHOCTON — The City of Coshocton as announced a street closure from 2 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday for the Coshocton Community Car Show on Main Street from Third to Sixth streets. Fourth Street will be closed from Chestnut Street to Chase Bank. Parking on those streets will stop at 1 p.m.

Double Vision draws a crowd

COSHOCTON — Lanny Spaulding, director of Our Town Coshocton, said more than 2,000 people attended the first of three concerts part of a summer series Saturday in Downtown Coshocton.

Performing was the Foreigner tribute band, Double Vision. Fleetwood Mac Mania will perform on July 16 and rising country star ERNEST is on Aug. 5.

Spaulding said the community was energetic, responsible and showed the best of Coshocton.

“Double Vision - The Foreigner Experience put on an amazing show and we were thrilled to host them downtown. They were a pleasure to work with and the feedback from the performance has been overwhelming positive," Spaulding said.

Museum offers crafting classes

COSHOCTON — The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is offering an embellishment class and family paint class upcoming.

Carolyn Mann will lead the embellishment class from 2 to 3:30 p.m. for youth and 6 to 8 p.m. for those 16 and older on July 28. Participants will have their choice of different bags with a wide variety of things to embellish them with such as beads, buttons, embroidery and more.

The family paint class is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4. Each person will create a watercolor portrait in the style of famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Participants will draw their portrait with a pencil and then use ink to make the lines bold. The shapes will be painted with simple watercolors.

Cost is $15 for kids and $18 for adults for the embellishment class and $8 for the paint class. For registration and more information, contact the museum at 740-622-8710 or jhmuseum@jhmuseum.org.

First Farm Friday planned

COSHOCTON — Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District is planning a First Farm Friday event from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 5 in and around the Coshocton Court Square.

The even will feature displays, farm machinery and animals. Food will be for sell by Real McCoy BBQ, Sno Shack, several 4-H clubs and others. A concert by country singer ERNEST will follow.

Locals achieve at Columbus State

COLUMBUS — Megan A. Schultz of Warsaw recently graduated cum laude from from Columbus State Community College. The architecture major also made the spring semester dean's list. Tara Salmans of Coshocton was also named to the dean's list.

Locals place at angus show

CHATHAM, VIRGINIA — Kristina Scheurman of Warsaw had the winning bred-and-owned reserve intermediate champion heifer at the 2022 Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show held recently in Chatham, Virginia. Ellie Kidwell of Walhonding won grand champion and genotype female.
