Shady Grove Road closed for culvert work

ZANESVILLE − The Muskingum County Engineer's Office has announced that Shady Grove Road will be closed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday from Rix Mills Road to Sunflower Road for culvert replacement.

Babyland Memorial Service planned

ZANESVILLE − Families who have lost a baby through miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy are invited to attend the Babyland Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. June 3 at Hillis, Combs and Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. A procession will follow from the funeral service to Mt. Olive Cemetery for an outdoor graveside service.

A special stone is placed at a site called Babyland to signify the babies lost in the last year and to guide families to their babies’ resting place. Those who wish to have their infant's name in the memorial service program should contact Jana Bell by May 31 at 740-450-6262.

Williams makes dean's list

HIGH POINT, NORTH CAROLINA − Kiah Williams of Zanesville was named to the spring semester dean's list with a 4.0 grade point average at High Point University. The daughter of Kelli Williams is a graduate of John Glenn High School and is majoring in exercise science.

Hoover makes dean's list

DELAWARE − Siarra Hoover of Frazeysburg was named to the spring semester dean's list at Ohio Wesleyan University.
