Burglary suspects in custody

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate a Monday burglary in the 400 block of West Chestnut Street.

Detectives located a suspect vehicle on Tuesday and started surveilling the associated residence. A traffic stop was made and items from the burglary were located in the vehicle. One man and one woman were taken into custody.

Search warrants were obtained and executed on the vehicle and residence. More items from the burglary were located. Assisting on scene were the Coshocton County Prosecutor's Office, Prince's Wrecker Service and K-9 Officer Charli.

The names of the suspects are being withheld until the filing of formal charges. The prosecutor's office is reviewing the case.

William Albert's gets park project

COSHOCTON — Coshocton County Commissioners on Wednesday awarded the contract for demolition of a structure and cleanup of land on County Road 1A once home to Skip's Refuse to William Albert Excavating for $102,097.73. It was the lowest bid of several received on Monday.

The approximate 3.5 acres will include picnic tables, bicycle rack and trash cans. It's hoped the park will be completed by the summer.

CFLP board to meet

NEWARK — The Coshocton-Fairfield-Licking-Perry Solid Waste District Board of Directors will meet in regular session at 9 a.m. Feb. 25 at the Donald D. Hill County Administration Building, 20 South Second St, Newark. Election of officers will be held.

A public hearing on designation will be following at 9:15 a.m. and the policy committee will meet at 9:45 a.m. The committee meeting will include election of officers, reviewing the annual plan implementation and voting on sending the new plan out for ratification.

Safety information session set

COSHOCTON — ASK Autism will have an information session for caretakers of those with special needs and families in general at 6 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Coshocton County Career Center.

Representatives of the Coshocton Fire Department, Coshocton County Emergency Medical Services and Coshocton County Sheriff's Office will share tips on keeping your family safe during an emergency.

Warsaw Alumni scholarships offered

WARSAW — The Warsaw Alumni Association is offering several $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors of River View High School who attended Warsaw Elementary School.

Awarded will be the WAA Scholarship, Clodaugh Brenneman Cline Scholarship, Lawrence Memorial Scholarship, Davis Educational Grant, Buxton Memorial Award and Conrad Family Memorial Scholarship.

Applications are due by March 25 and are available through Mrs. Hemming at River View High School and Jim Lawrence by calling 740-824-3890. The Cline Scholarship is coordinated by the Coshocton Foundation and information is available through its website. Awards will be presented at the WAA's annual banquet and winners will be recognized at the high school's senior awards program.

T-Mobile offering home internet

COSHOCTON — T-Mobile on Wednesday expanded its fixed wireless home internet service to 10 new cities in Ohio. This includes Coshocton.

The expansion will give 2.5 million Ohioans an alternative to traditional landline ISPs and more than a third now covered by T-Mobile home internet are in small towns and rural areas. More information is available at t-mobile.com.

Planetarium to hold spring show

COSHOCTON — The Coshocton Planetarium has two new shows upcoming.

"From Earth to the Universe" on the solar system and Milky Way galaxy will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Feb. 28 and March 1 to 3 and 7.

"One World, One Sky - Big Bird's Adventure" includes "Sesame Street" characters talking about the night sky will be from 6 to 7 p.m. and 7 to 8 p.m. March 7 to 9.
